John and I met years ago through my sister, Stephanie, who is always breaking her computers. John works in the IT industry and at the time was working for the Best Buy Geek Squad. Being the nice guy he is, he offered to fix her computers himself to save her money. This was the beginning of their friendship, and as their friendship grew, she introduced him to me. We immediately became very good friends.
Neither of us could say what made us fall in love. We were good friends for years and watched one another go through several bad relationships. We are just very alike and have the same interests. One day we just went from being friends to being a little bit more. John and I “officially” dated for 3 years before he proposed.
John proposed at Chateau LaFayette Reneau Winery and Vineyard in the Fingerlakes, NY on December 7, 2013. We were doing the Deck the Halls tour with several of our friends when John asked us to go outside on the deck to take a group picture. It was sunset and a beautiful winter day. John proceeded to thank everyone for being present for what he was sure was going to be one of the best moments of his life. He then got down on one knee and proposed. I don’t think I have ever been more surprised. My sister got the whole thing on video and our friend, who is a photographer, was there to take pictures. He truly thought everything through.
When John and I started looking at wedding venues, I knew I wanted something a little bit more rustic, but a little modern too. I found Stroudsmoor online and immediately wanted to go look at the venue. As soon as I saw Lawnhaven, I knew that it was the place. Stroudsmoor was the only place we visited, and I could not have been happier.
We had the most beautiful wedding. From the very beginning, I knew that everything would be perfect. The staff is professional, friendly, easy to work with, and accommodating. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the staff very helpful and attentive. Our family and friends cannot stop raving about how wonderful our wedding was. I recommend Stroudsmoor to anyone who is looking to have their special day be truly magical.
