How and where you did you meet?
We met each other when we were 14 years old in a local community orchestra. One of Matt’s friends came up to Ashley to break the ice. We eventually found each other on MySpace and went on a first date to the movies. Not long after that we were dating and the rest is history!
What was your first impression of one another, and the day you knew you would be together forever?
Ashley’s first impression of Matt was that he seemed fun and sweet, not to mention easy on the eyes! Matt thought Ashley was out of his league. We wouldn’t say there was an exact day that we knew we would be together forever. We have always been steadfast in our commitment to one another through it all. We have been one another’s best friend and major support through all the big and little things these last 15 years. It is this foundation that we knew would withstand the test of time.
Tell us about the proposal?
Matt proposed to Ashley after shortly finding out they were under contract for their first home in the midst of the pandemic in 2020. He had set up his tripod camera to capture photos to commemorate the event and at the end he got down on one knee while the camera was still taking photos!
Tell us what led you to Stroudsmoor and your reason for celebrating at the Inn?
Both of us are originally from the Poconos. We have attended other weddings/events at Stroudsmoor so were able to see first hand as a guest before committing to having our own wedding here. We wanted a venue that was able to handle just about everything (aside from just a couple other vendors) and a venue that would really be hands-on and guide us every step of the way, which led us to choose Stroudsmoor.
What was the one menu and décor detail you loved most about your celebration?
We absolutely loved the cocktail hour. All of our guests are still raving about it! Although a good portion of our cocktail hour was spent taking photos, the staff was incredible in making sure we at least got to enjoy some of our favorite appetizers. The decor detail we loved the most had to be all of our florals in general – this included a floral archway over the altar as well as above our sweetheart table, all of the centerpieces, and the bouquets were absolutely stunning.
What made your Stroudsmoor Wedding Journey most memorable?
Given that Stroudsmoor is so organized and detail-oriented, it truthfully took a lot of the stress out of planning. This allowed us to just enjoy the process and all the moments leading up to the wedding. We had the absolute best day ever at Stroudsmoor and the entire day flowed so smoothly, it is hard to pick an exact moment that was memorable as we truly enjoyed each part.
Share a hope for your first anniversary.
We hope that we will be able to look back on our first year as a married couple and know that we have continued to uphold the vows we made to one another. Not to mention we hope to make it back for our anniversary to celebrate at Stroudsmoor to commemorate our amazing wedding day and the start of our forever!
